摘要
The objective of this study was to investigate college students' perceptions about how parents should interpersonally communicate divorce to their children. One hundred and nine college students provided their personal responses regarding the topic. Themes were created based on the responses. It is evident that college students have strong perceptions regarding the ways in which parents need to communicate divorce to their children. There were three main themes: 1) message-focused, 2) the verbal and nonverbal approach, and 3) other/exempt. The results of the study are important for creating future interventions and/or plans to discuss divorce with children.
