摘要
We present simple and the effective blocking artifact reduction techniques to be applied to practical MPEG codec. At motion compensation course, we propose 2-step MAD motion search to reduce the errors of boundary pixels. And we present an overlapped search method, overlapped 2-step MAD motion search without additional computation. For intrablock coding, 1-D DCT predictive quantization and pixel difference predictive quantization are proposed at DCT/quantization course. They use the adjacent pixel sets of previously reconstructed blocks, and improve inter-block continuity. As simulation results, we can reduce blocking artifacts and obtain good picture qualities compared with MPEG test model.
