摘要
Current information technologies favor healthcare services delivery in the home. Computer and telecommunication tools account for the fast growth of home health care via telemedicine in recent years. The medical and technological requirements for effective telehomecare programs in Latin America subordinate to the culture of its people. Demographic data is used to illustrate the social and economical situation in Latin America Some frequent barriers as well,as some advantages to successful home care programs in the region are presented. Main issues are analyzed within the changes needed toward the implementation of telemedicine projects.
