摘要
Traditionally, gas electron multipliers ( GEMs) have been powered by a resistor divider chain to protect the elements against accidental power supply failure. We present a new, low cost method for individually biasing the GEMs in a multi-GEM stack. The use of isolated DC to DC Converters ( DCCs) allows for independent control and monitoring of all GEM high-voltage surfaces without compromising the safety of the GEMs.
