Finding the windows of regular motion within the chaos of ordinary differential equations

摘要
A method is presented to find the windows of regular motion, which are normally buried in the chaos, of ordinary differential equations. It relies on using the Henon map to approximate the Poincare map of the differential equations. Here, it is demonstrated for the physical system of a vertically driven, damped pendulum.
