Frictional slip lengths and blockage coefficients

摘要
This paper shows that the frictional slip lengths for longitudinal Stokes shear flow over a superhydrophobic surface are precisely the blockage coefficients for uniform potential flow past screens with the same geometry. This observation facilitates useful knowledge transfer between two apparently disparate areas of fluid dynamics. Various ramifications of this realization are explored.
