The effects of organic extractives on the brightness and the bleaching performance of wheat straw chemimechanical pulp

摘要
The effect of organic extractives in wheat straw chemi-mechanical pulp(CMP) on the brightness and the bleaching performance was studied. It was found that under specific sodium sulfite pretreatment,the dissolution of organic extractives reached about 60%, as colouring matters were still present in the remaining organic extractable portion,it would bring about around one degree lowering in pulp brightness. However during the pretreatment,even though only 60% or so of the organic extractives were removed,yet most of the strong acids(about 70%) as well as phenolic and polyphenolic compounds(about 80%) were dissolved out therefore the residual organic extractives in the CMP had less effects on the bleaching performance of the CMP. organic extractives in this case were by no means of hinderance to the bleaching performance of wheat straw CMP.
