摘要：
Although pudicitia was a distinctively feminine quality in the Roman moral vocabulary, it was advertised as an official virtue of the emperor Hadrian. This study sets the proclamation of Hadrian's pudicitia in a set of ideological and discursive frameworks in order to explain the brief rise of this anomalous imperial virtue.
