摘要
In the proposed work, a passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader antenna operating for Ultra High Frequency (UHF) have been designed for wireless applications in Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN). The proposed antenna is simulated on wearable material with low dielectric and low power dissipation for better bending strength. The radiating gain and directivity of the proposed RFID antenna are improved using a thin sheet of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) above the radiating patch. The designed UHF RFID antenna radiates a high gain of 10 dB at 880 MHz with a bandwidth of 200 MHz. The measured return loss (S11) is -27 dB with the VSWR of 1.08. The antenna radiates for a long reading range of approximately 10m and provides better isolation to the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) caused due to neighboring frequencies for passive UHF RFID applications in WBAN.
