摘要
Power is a factor that cannot be played down in any society if there is going to be any significant development in all aspects of its economy. The UTAUT model being a recent model has been used to explain technology usage and acceptance in various contexts, but, Power as a construct is not included in the model. Power is a social as well as an economic construct and it is a significant variable that constitutes a prevailing challenge in developing nations that could affect the use of technology. Power as a concept could be viewed as the energy that is generated through electrical, mechanical, or other ways and used for operating a device. Power, electricity and energy are often used interchangeably. The concept of Power which is critical for the use of e-learning tools and facilities in higher institutions of learning will be analytically studied in this paper. Furthermore, this work attempts to explore the modification of UTAUT by integrating Power construct into the model which can be used to explain the use of e-learning tools in higher institutions of learning. Therefore, this study will use the secondary sources of data. The conceptual framework would be of interest to education administrators, researchers, as well as stakeholders particularly in developing nations such as Nigeria with regards to adequate planning and policy making.
