摘要:
Water quality of the River Yamuna in its upper and Delhi stretch was investigated. In upper stretch the river received pollution load from two drains and non point sources, while in Delhi about five drains discharging the pollution loads. During the low flow months the water quality of the river in Delhi is very much below standards. A surface water quality model, Mike 11, developed by Danish hydraulic Institute, was applied to estimate the impact of discharged wastewater on quality of river Yamuna. Hydrodynamic model was set up and calibrated for low flow months. Sensitivity analysis was performed to determine the most important factors that affect dissolved oxygen concentration in river water. The model was calibrated for BOD-DO and Coliforms and validated for BOD-DO according to field measurements. The validated model was applied to predict the effect of different pollution control schemes.
