摘要
In this paper, the effects of temperature, oxidation time, and oxygen concentration on the conversion of sulfur by wet oxidation in the Bayer process were investigated at length. The results show that active sulfur S2- and S2O32- in sodium aluminate solution can be converted completely by wet oxidation during the digestion process, thus the effects of S2- and S2O32- on alumina product quality are eliminated; increased temperature, oxidation time, and oxygen concentration are conducive to conversion of S2- and S2O32-. At the same time, part of the organic carbon in the sodium aluminate solution is also oxidized by wet oxidation, and the color of the sodium aluminate solution noticeably fades.
