Duration of the quantum "Zeno" region for an excited state of the hydrogen atom

摘要
The temporal behavior of 2P-1S transition of the hydrogen atom is analyzed and compared to the exponential decay law. The duration of the quantum Zeno region is found to be approximately 3.59.10(-15) s (the lifetime is 1.595.10(-9) s).
