A Broadband Frequency Selective Surface Absorber Using Nonuniform Circular Metallic Patches

摘要
In this paper, a new broadband Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) electromagnetic absorber (EMA) is proposed. The absorber consists of circular metallic patches with different dimensions backed by a foam spacer and metallic ground. The patches provide different resonances resulting in improvement of the absorption characteristics of the proposed EMA. The re ection coef cient of the proposed EMA with a thickness of 3.4 mm is less than -10 dB from 8 to 12 GHz frequency spectrum. For both TE and TM-polarized waves, the reflection coefficient of the presented EMA is almost independent of the incidence angle from 0 degrees to 30 degrees.
