Unsteady MHD Convective Flow of Non-Newtonian Casson Fluid in the Stagnation Region of an Impulsively Rotating Sphere

摘要
This paper studies the unsteady laminar magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convection flow of an incompressible viscous non-Newtonian Casson fluid in the stagnation region of an impulsively rotating sphere. Nonsimilar solutions and the fourth order Runge-Kutta method are used to solve the partial differential equations governing the problem. The obtained results are presented in terms of the velocity profiles in the x and y directions, the shear stresses profiles in the x and y directions and the profiles of heat transfer rate. The outcomes of the paper indicated that as the Casson parameter increases, the velocity profiles in the x direction increase, whereas it reduces the velocity profiles in the y direction and temperature distributions. Additionally, the increase in the shear stresses in both the x and y directions can be obtained by increasing either the magnetic field parameter or buoyancy parameter.
