Spinal hydatid cyst is a serious and rare infectious disease. We report a case of spinal hydatid cyst at the second lumbar vertebra, and we discuss the clinical presentation, diagnosis and surgical treatment of vertebral hydatid cyst. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
