摘要
alpha-Fe2O3 and alpha-Fe2O3:Er3+ nanoparticles at different concentrations have been successfully synthesized by microwave synthwave method. The XRD confirmed the hexagonal structure of alpha-Fe2O3 pure phase and no impurities were present confirming the substitution of Fe3+ with Er3+. The UV-Vis show the absorption band from the Er3+ assigned to I-4(11/2) and the band gap increases with increasing doping concentration. The Raman spectroscopy was used to further confirm the substitution of Fe3+ with Er3+ from the disappearing phonon band at 124 cm(-1). The photoluminescence show an increase in emission intensity from un-doped to 0.2 mol% doped Er3+ and a quenching phenomenon as the doping concentration is increased from 0.4 mol% to 0.6 mol%.
