Composition dependence of Curie temperature and microstructure in amorphous Fe-Co-Mo-Cu-B metallic glasses

摘要
Devitrification of (FeCo)(79)Mo(8)Cu(1)B(12) alloys takes place in two main stages: a primary crystallization gives rise to ultrafine alpha-Fe,Co crystals embedded in an amorphous residual matrix that fully crystallizes in a second stage. Co addition provokes a significant increase (approximately linear with the Co content of the alloy) of the Curie temperature of the amorphous phase but decreases the thermal stability of both the amorphous and the nanocrystalline phases. Saturation magnetization of the as-quenched alloy increases with their Co content. For a given composition, the saturation magnetization of the alloy and Curie temperature of the amorphous matrix increase monotonously during the nanocrystallization process. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
