摘要
Population ageing is one of the most dynamic and important phenomenon of the 21st century which could affects the functioning of the whole society. The concept and indicators used by the majority of the scientific community have remained unchanged and based only on the chronological age and retrospective approach. It can be misleading because this approach implicitly assumes no changes in important dimensions of age. One of the important changes is the prolongation of life. Inclusion of life expectancy in connection to prospective approach could get a much more complete picture of population ageing. This view is an important tool allows us to analyze ageing more comprehensively and more accurately. The main aim of this paper is to describe new approach to population ageing and the concept of a prospective age. We focus not only on simple but also more complex - multidimensional indicators based on this forward-looking approach.
