摘要：

A 21-yr-old woman who had been talking part in equestrian events for ten years presented with an 18-month history of right inguinal pain during practice. Radiography revealed the presence of an unusual example of stress fracture of the femoral neck. This was treated by non-weight bearing immobilisation in a single hip spica. The patient resumed competitive equitation after six months. The interest of the case lies in the certainty that this fracture was due to the combined effect of excessive physical exercise and the patient's overweight. (C) 2001, Editrice Kurtis.
