摘要
In this paper, seismic behaviors of earthquake-damaged reinforced concrete (RC) columns retrofitted using basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) sheets have been investigated through lateral reversed cyclic test. Three large-sized RC columns, with a section of 300mmx300mm, were fabricated. The earthquake damage was simulated through applying reversed cyclic loading on the intact RC columns and two damage levels (moderate and severe damage) were assigned to the columns. After retrofitting, the RC columns were retested through reversed cyclic tests. It was found that the seismic capacities of the FRP-retrofitted earthquake-damaged RC columns were improved a lot after retrofit, including the ductility and energy dissipation capacities. However, the flexural capacity was not fully restored for the RC columns with severe damage and the initial stiffness of the BFRP-retrofitted earthquake-damaged RC columns was lower than that of the original intact ones.
