摘要
The exponents of the troglodyte architecture of La Palma Island have been gradually abandoned by their users because they usually want to life in better conditions. The lack of use, the geographic isolation, the steep slopes of the access roads, as well as the scarce protection of it against landslides have led to the failure to carry out the proper maintenance tasks and, therefore, the state of conservation is poor. Faced with the inevitable degradation that the excavated architecture of the Island presents, there is the need to revitalize that Cultural Heritage by incorporating new uses compatible with these excavated spaces in order to restore some of the values lost with the pass of the time. That is why, it is necessary to find a balance between social and economic use by incorporating measures aimed at improving the quality of life of people that allow us to recover a sustainable way of life compatible with nature, taking advantage of the natural resources present in each location.
