摘要：

This introduction presents thearticles included in this special issue on "investing in human resources for health in French-speaking Africa". It starts by placing the human resources issue in the context of the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. It then presents the Muskoka Project, launched by the French Government and implemented in collaboration with the World Health Organization and UNICEF, which supported studies on the quality of education of health workers and recruitment and retention issues in nine French-speaking African countries. The articles of this special issue are briefly presented together with the main lessons to be learned that can be useful for the design and implementation of interventions on the various topics concerned.
