TEM and EBSD investigation of a Re-doped β-NiAl coating on a Ni-based single crystal superalloy

摘要
To figure out the microstructure and precipitation phases of a Re doped beta-NiAl coating, the electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were both used. Re-doped beta-NiAl coating was composed of outer coarser beta-NiAl grains with nanometer sized gamma-Re precipitates, inner tiny 8-NiAl grains with submicron sized alpha-W phases and bottom interdiffusion zone (IDZ, consisted of strip TCP and 8-NiAl phases). Moreover, these gamma-Re and alpha-W nanoparticle phases were not only aggregated at beta-NiAl grain boundary but also appeared within the grains.
