On the connectivity modeling of wireless Ad Hoc networks

摘要
The connectivity of Ad Hoc networks by forming the links is considered in this paper. Isolated nodes can not form any link. Two types of links are common in multihop wireless networks like Ad Hoc networks. Separate single links and multiple correlated links. We define the multiple correlated links as a consequence of the new links made by the other nodes close to the first one. The multiple links can be independent or correlated, depending on the users' situation in that network. Although the conventional models assume independent links, in practical wireless multihop transmission systems, both types of links can be exist. The justification of both kinds of links is discussed. In this paper, we propose and develop statistical models to compute the average number of links by simultaneously considering both the independent and the correlated factors. Conventionally, the number of link distribution is considered as Poisson. We took this advantage, but considered a correlated finite number of Poisson distributed link. The variation between the proposed model and the conventional model is considered. The proposed models are fairly general and may be applied to any wireless multihop transmission systems, where the connections are affected by both the independent and correlated links together.
