Silica sulfuric acid as a heterogeneous reagent catalysed eco-friendly and efficient synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolinones by the reaction of isatoic anhydride, a primary amine or ammonium acetate and an aromatic aldehyde in water or under solvent-free conditions.
