摘要
Quick release: Polymer-coated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are used as nanocarriers and nanoscale acceptors are used to represent proteins and lipid membranes in a model drug-delivery system. The fluorescence of a drug is quenched in the vicinity of the AuNPs but reemerges upon its release (see picture). The critical role of nanoacceptors in facilitating drug release is demonstrated. © 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
