Effects of TiB2 particle addition on the expansion, structure and mechanical properties of PM Al foams

摘要
Addition of TiB2 particles to Al-TiH2 powder compacts results in a significant increase in foam expansion, due to a reduction in the minimum cell wall thickness, but does not affect stabilisation of the foam. Composite foams were found to have higher proof stresses and absorb more energy than Al foams. (C) 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
