摘要
Street functional classification is the basis of cross-section design and pavement structure. The good street types permits designs that are more responsive to local conditions and community values, and are more environmentally sustainable. In recent years, there are some shortcomings in small town street functional classification such as applying mechanically fixed model, the street concept unsuitability, and the simple street hierarchy hardly reflecting the street properties. This paper holds that the street system harmony, street multiple functions should be considered in street classification. According to the small town's street feature, it puts forwards the street classification method of comprehensive consideration small town's street position, the relationship between street and land use, and the street hierarchy. Taking small town's size into account, the paper determines the street hierarchy level which includes main arterial street, minor arterial street, branch street and alley, and redefines the various streets. From the relationship between street and land, the streets are divided into mixed-use street, traffic road, commercial street, residential street, industrial street, the historical landmark protection streets and so on. According to the street position, the streets are divided into internal, entrance road and through road, and their function characteristics are given. Finally, the paper sets up the corresponding relationship among street position, properties and hierarchy, and establishes the suitable street classification system for small town.
