Evolution of the Urgonian platform between the Jura and the Septentrional Subalpine Chains (France, Switzerland)

The stratigraphic study of the Urgonian carbonate platform presented here was carried out on a directed transversal NW-SE and passing by Geneva. This transversal extends on 100 km length; it lies between the face of the "folded Jura" (Champagnole, the Jura) and the septentrional subalpine chains (Aravis, Haute-Savoie). Essentially based on the biostratigraphy (ammonites, orbitolinids, echinids) and on sequence stratigraphy, this study illustrates the progradation of the Urgonian platform from the "folded Jura" (top of the Lower Hauterivian) to the Aravais chain (lowermost Barremian).
