A dual-mode bandpass filter is proposed that is composed of a meandering resonator and a small rectangular loop for the purpose of perturbation. Both the length and width of the rectangular loop could control the dual-mode resonant frequencies. A prototype filter is designed and fabricated with a center frequency of 2.45 GHz. The measured fractional bandwidth is 10.98%, insertion loss is 0.8 dB, and return loss is over 15 dB. which are in good agreement with the simulated results. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
