Upconversion emissions in Er3+ and Er3+/Yb3+ activated Y2O3 nanopowders prepared by polymerization method

摘要
Using polymerization method, Er3+-doped and Er3+/Yb3+-codoped Y2O3 nanopowders were prepared. Under 975 nm exication, upconversion emissions of the samples had been studied in detail. Strong green upconversion emission was observed in the 0.5 mol%Er3+ -doped Y2O3 nanopowder. Strong green and red up conversion emissions were discovered in the 0.5 mol%Er3+/1mol%Yb3+ -codoped Y2O3 nanopowder. However, strong red upconversion emission was found in the 0.5 mol%Er3+/5mol%Yb3+ -codoped Y2O3 nanopowder. The prepared method of luminescent nanopowders will be helpful to developing luminescent technology.
