Analysis of the atmosphere absorption of centimetric radio waves along satellite-to-satellite occultation paths

摘要
Attenuation of centimetric radio waves during the course of occultation radio sensing of the atmosphere along MIR space station-geostationary satellite paths is analyzed. Attenuation of radio waves due to refraction and absorption by oxygen, water vapor, and clouds is studied. The possibility of monitoring the altitude distributions of water vapor and cloud water content by the radio occultation technique is discussed.
