摘要
We study the time behavior of the reaction rate of fast bimolecular reactions by means of asymptotic methods from the theory of singularly perturbed differential equations. The corresponding standard theory due to A.N. Tikhonov [3] and A.B. Vasilieva [4] has to be extended in order to derive conditions for the occurance of jumping behavior of the reaction rate. It turns out that the exchange of stability of an equilibrium point of the associated system determines the existence and location of transition layers.
