摘要
In this letter, a looped slots patch antenna for passive UHF-RFID tags applications in metallic supports is presented. By adopting a three-layer substrate on antenna design, an antenna gain of 2.5 dB on metallic objects is achieved; and by embedding a looped slots on the radiating body, an overall size of the antenna of 85 x 85 x 3.862 mm(3) is obtained, and a good matching between the antenna impedance and chip is established. The simulated half-power bandwidth of the designed antenna is of 96.8 MHz which allows to cover all passive UHF-RFID band. The read ranges in free space and on metallic supports are 12.5 and 16 m, respectively, which implies that the proposed antenna is a good candidate to work on metallic objects of large dimensions such as the containers.
