摘要
Information literacy (IL) education in Malaysia is still at its infancy. Since 2002, IL implementation has been acknowledged by IL implementers and practitioners as evident from the education literature. However, the implementation of IL education remains difficult and not well researched. The IL studies in Malaysia found five issues that affect IL education implementation into the education system: (a) different interpretations and understanding of IL, (b) exam oriented school system, (c) lack of official documents, plan and policies, curriculum resources and frameworks, (d) lack of necessary skills and understanding, lack of training, and (e) lack of space and funds. These issues seem to be the threats that need to be addressed.
