摘要
The purpose of this study was to build on the notion of nursing as a human science by using the approach of phenomenology and grounded theory to explore and describe the lived experience of women suffering with angina. Eight women aged between 50 and 70 years old were asked to participate for a 2-month period. The women were selected soon after admission to a hospital in southern England. They were interviewed on two occasions and were asked to keep a diary of events. From the analysis of the transcribed data and the diary records it is possible to detect a clear adjustment process that emerged as the women recovered and dealt with the limitations on their lives.
