Synthesis, characterization, and biological activity of some transition metal chelates of 4-acyloxime-2-pyrazolin-5-ones

摘要
Chelates of chromium(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) with 4-formyloxime-3-phenyl-1-(2',4'-dinitrophenyl)-2-pyrazolin-5-one, 4-acetyloxime-3-phenyl-1-(2',4'-dinitrophenyl)-2-pyrazolin-5-one and 4-benzoyloxime-3-methyl-1-(2',4'-dinitrophenyl)-2-pyrazolin-5-one have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, conductivity, magnetic susceptibility measurements, spectral and thermal studies. All chelates are suggested to have an octahedral structure. Various ligand field parameters for the chromium(III), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) chelates have been calculated. All of the synthesized chelates have been screened for their biological activities against various microorganisms.
