摘要:
This paper presents an experimental method to compensate hysteresis in a magnetostrictive actuator. It can be achieved by inserting a capacitor in series with the current driver for the magnetostrictive actuator. The capacitor reshapes an input signal due to its characteristic, which is fed into the current driver. From the experimental results, it is found that a specific capacitor compensates the maximum hysteresis, given a specific frequency and a specific input magnitude. It is also found that the specific capacitor is inversely proportional to the increase of frequency and input magnitude. The maximum compensation rate with various capacitors is about 90 percent. It can be concluded that the presented method is useful and effective to reduce hysteresis in the magnetostrictive actuator.
