Inexpensive, high-performance, resealable containers-for food, personal care, and other products-made from stretch blow molded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) have been popular with consumers since their introduction in the 1970s. The author discusses the PET material, container and preform designs, and the molding process. Problems that may arise during processing are described, and solutions are suggested.
