摘要
In encouraging green technology in transportation sector and reducing the reliance on subsidy given by the government in fisheries sector, this study is proposed to evaluate the feasibility of developing grid-connected renewable energy electric boat charging station in Kuala Terengganu using simulation-based method. Data collection was done in the selected area to get solar radiation and wind speed data. Interview was conducted to know about fishing activities and the amount of subsidy received by fishermen. The optimal configuration of the proposed system is examined using HOMER software. The comparison between all feasible systems is done based on the production and consumption of electricity per year, the net present cost and emission of pollutant. Payback period is also calculated. The system also generates high income from selling energy to the grid with Feed-in-Tariff scheme at rates RM 1.49/kWh. It is concluded that the most feasible configuration to be developed in the selected area is a hybrid grid-PV system. The results also show that the performance of the system is better than other configurations in all interested parameters.
