摘要
Two Degrees of Freedom (2DOF) electrical machines are widely used in robotics. They need position sensors for their electronic commutation and high performance control loop. 2DOF resolvers are the best choice for such applications. Therefore, in this paper a new configuration is proposed for rotational-linear position estimation. Then, an optimization is done to reduce the sensor's volume by 25.99%. The optimal design also has more accuracy in both rotational (about 75%) and linear (about 56%) motions. The performance of the initial design and the optimal one is analyzed using three-dimensional (3-D) transient finite element method (FEM). Afterwards, the optimal configuration is built and experimentally tested. Measured results confirms the success of the proposed design.
