An Improved Localization Algorithm for Randomly Distributed Sensor Networks

摘要
DV-Hop is an important localization algorithm in wireless sensor network (WSN). To improve the poor locating performance of DV-Hop algorithm in randomly distributed networks, this paper makes three improvements including improving the estimation for average one-hop distance of anchor nodes, modifying average one-hop distance of unknown nodes, and making use of second-level nodes in node localization. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm performs better than traditional DV-Hop algorithm both in accuracy and stability. In addition, the improved algorithm needs no additional hardware, and it is an effective algorithm dealing with node localization in randomly distributed networks.
