摘要
Based upon the generalization of those theories in corporate technological innovation approaches, resources flexibility and competence flexibility, the essay presents, its relevant hypotheses and discusses the role of resources flexibility and competence flexibility in choosing the technological innovation approaches. The empirical results reflect that firms with high competence flexibility are in a better position to undertake independent innovations and cooperative innovations, while firms with high resource flexibility prefer independent innovations to cooperative innovations. In practices, firms must improve organizational resource flexibility and competence flexibility, ensure that continuous innovations will reflect ever-changing external business environment, effectively avoid the risks in the process of innovation and create sustained competitive advantages.
