摘要
A typical ferritic/martensitic (F/M) sheet was subjected to laser surface treatment (LST) with microstructural characteristics, hardness and wear resistance before and after the LST well revealed by jointly utilizing multiple characterization methods. Two distinct modification zones exist in the LSTed specimen: (i) melted zone consisting of both martensitic plates and bulk delta ferrite and (ii) heat-affected zone mainly composed of martensitic plates, with respective hardnesses of 385 +/- 17 HV and 442 +/- 44 HV, markedly higher than that of the substrate (267 +/- 3 HV). Wear rate measurements suggest that wear resistance of the LSTed F/M steel is improved by >50%. The improved surface properties are well correlated with specific microstructural characteristics induced by the LST.
