This paper examines interactions between land use runoff and soil-water regime measured by tensiometry. Results (1985-1989) show that differences in evapotranspiration between spruce forest, arable land and meadow were only 3.6%, and in percolation, only 7% of precipitation. The error of the precipitation measurement is 10%. The loss of 13% of the forest in the 0.99 km(2) Liz catchment resulted in a 2.7% increase in runoff.
