摘要
The latest revision of the Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children were published in 2003. Like its predecessor WISC-III, this instrument continues to be one of the most widely used instruments for assessment of intellectual functioning of children. The WISC-IV has been updated to reflect current theory and practice of cognitive assessment of children. The normative data have been updated and the test blueprint has been carefully redesigned. As a result, important changes have been made to the structure and the subtest composition as well as to the administration and scoring. Additionally, a process approach was introduced to provide a qualitative interpretation of test performance and an analysis of errors. Over a period of 3 years the WISC-IV was translated adapted, and standardized for application in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland) and has now been published as HAWIK-IV.
