摘要
Flash floods and flooding due to heavy rain events in small ri- ver catchments, frequently led to serious damage in the last decade. Away from larger rivers the analysis and classification of extreme events is challenging. On this scale neither gauges for streamflow and rainfall are available nor do hydrological methods produce any reliable results. Conversely, radar preci- pitation measurements help to create a temporally and spati- ally highly-resolved picture of heavy rainfalls. However, as an indirect detection method, they only provide qualitative infor- mation about extreme precipitation events. A combination with the available ground-based rain monitoring network al- lows us to appropriately adjust the radar measurement data. The developed method for offline adjustment of radar data was successfully tested and can be used for future hydrologi- cal applications. © 2018; Springer, All rights reserved.
