摘要
Neurons in close proximity responding to common inputs, are interconnected with each other in the same functional circuit and project their signals to overlap significantly across a sensor array implanted in the brain. A major noise component is correlated interference from neurons below the detection level. Elements in the array are a precious commodity and are often outnumbered by the superthreshold neural sources. The signals are transient in nature and have sparse representation in the time domain. The performance of multiresolution and linear systems based algorithms used in source discovery, definition and repeated detection is the subject of this presentation.
