摘要
center dot Considering the key resource of businesses that allows them to achieve the set goals is human resources, it is important to determine the impact of leadership behaviors on the organizational attitudes and behaviors exhibited by employees. This study aims to investigate the role of job satisfaction (JS) and leader-member exchange (LMX) in the effect of authentic leadership (AL) behaviors in shipping businesses on career satisfaction (CS). To this end, the analysis of the data obtained from the employees in shipping businesses in Turkey is performed using SPSS v22 Process macro v3.4 with Bootstrap (n=5000), and the models proposed by Hayes (2019). The findings of this study show that the AL behaviors exhibited by leaders in shipping businesses affect the CS of employees both directly and indirectly through JS. It finds out that the effect of AL behaviors on CS through JS differs by the level of LMX. This study, which holistically addresses the roles of JS and LMX in the effect of AL behaviors on CS in shipping businesses, seeks to analyze the relationship between the factors that affect the CS of the employees in shipping businesses and to offer suggestions to improve their CS, thus hopefully providing important insights into the literature. The original value of this study lies in its attempt to holistically examine the impact of JS and LMX in the effect of AL behaviors perceived by employees in shipping businesses on their CS. The study adds to the literature by proposing a new model that explains the successors of AL and the precursors of CS.
